OUR FOUNDERS
HISTORY
Back in 1971, four people came together with a vision. Those four people were Elder Levi R. King, Sr., Elect Lady Madlyn A. (White) King, Elder Lee Henderson Ward, Jr., and the late Lady Johnnie Mae Ward-Harris. There were two children who were a part of the founding church, Cheryl Mosley (Ward) and Melanie Bell (King). They fasted, prayed, and stayed before the Lord until their vision became a reality on June 18, 1972 at 535 Collinsville Avenue in downtown East Saint Louis, Illinois. That was when Bible Fellowship Apostolic Church came into being.
The church was dedicated. Elder King was consecrated to the office of pastor and Elder Ward was consecrated to the office of assistant pastor by the Right Reverend Bishop James A. Johnson. Bishop Johnson was pastor of Bethesda Temple Church, St Louis, Missouri (past prelate of the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World). Dr. Levi R. King, Sr. was consecrated a Bishop April 2, 1993 in the World Apostolic Fellowship. Elder Lee H. Ward, Jr. was consecrated Bishop in June, 2002 during the 30th Anniversary Celebration of BFAC.
